Learn how to harness the power of Adobe XD to create interactive content and experiences!
For those that know my content (and if you don’t, welcome! Check it out!) you know that I am a designer at heart. My love of color, layout, and visuals to tell a story and capture an audience, fuels much of the creative energy I put into impacting education. When I think of design it is hard to not go right to Adobe. It’s not that I am just a lover of Adobe products, I am a veteran user of 19 years! I learned to use Adobe Photoshop in high school, before Youtube, before Google, and sadly even before a good For Dummies book. This made learning design software quite difficult, and that is another catalyst for this video series.
When I look at ways to leverage new technology in the classroom, I do it with two goals in mind:
1) Give teachers another purposeful tool to support students in creating good quality artifacts of learning and understanding.
2) Give students (and teacher too) exposure to real world tools that can give them an edge in the professional world and show them new career pathways they might have not thought about (or known about).
With that said, welcome to Adobe XD! This software is a professional design program geared towards simplifying the User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) process so that digital products can not just look amazing but result in amazing experiences. The tutorial below is one of roughly 6 that will guide you through the process of creating interactive digital products.
So why create interactive experiences? As if any one of us is looking to “fill time”. What good are they anyway?
Imagine if your students could present content by researching, designing, and creating an interactive product to show their understanding of content and then facilitate peers learning by sharing them with the class? You might ask if it is worth the extra time? I honestly think it is! If you aren’t sure yet, please check out the first video and let me know what you think in a comment below!
